Join us at Pride in Baltimore to learn about health coverage options

HIV maryland health coverageNo matter the weather, there will be rainbows galore at Pride this weekend in Baltimore! Our LGBTQ+ friendly navigators will be manning (or woman-ing) a table for your benefit. Included in our giveaways for the day, you can pick up fact sheets on how to use your coverage and health protections for LGBT Marylanders.

Thanks to the Affordable Care Act, all Marylanders get the same benefits. You may not be disqualified from obtaining health insurance due to your sexual orientation, gender identity or any pre-existing condition such as diabetes, cancer, or HIV. This includes gender-specific care or screenings that have been approved by your doctor. Common examples include a transgender man getting a mammogram or Pap smear.

9 out of 10 people received financial help for 2018 plans.

All married couples are treated the same way when determining financial help qualifications. Families of same-sex spouses also receive the same benefits under Maryland Health Connection health plans.
