Health Care Changes Affecting Marylanders

New federal health care rules are changing Medicaid and private health coverage through Maryland Health Connection. These changes, including those under H.R. 1, may affect many Marylanders, including some immigrants with legal status.

Maryland Health Connection is committed to helping all Marylanders understand these updates and access the resources they need.

Join Johanna Fabian-Marks, Executive Director of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange, and Perrie Briskin, Maryland Department of Health Deputy Secretary for Health Care Finance and Director of Maryland Medicaid, as they discuss:

What is changing: Learn about major federal changes to health care and how they may affect Marylanders.
Who may be affected: Understand how the changes may impact people with Medicaid, private health coverage, and some immigrants with legal status.

Virtual Health Care Support Events

Get free, one-on-one virtual health insurance help from a Maryland Health Connection expert. Meet online with a licensed insurance broker to understand your options for financial assistance, compare health plans, and get scheduled to enroll in affordable health coverage. Maryland Health Connection is the state’s official health insurance marketplace where residents can compare and enroll in private health plans, Medicaid, and dental coverage under the Affordable Care Act.

Once registered, you'll receive a confirmation email with details on how to join the webinar. Please note, you cannot enroll in Medicaid virtually. You will need to complete your application in-person or over the phone through the Call Center to complete the “Attestation” portion during which you attest that the information you provided is accurate.

The event will feature fire trucks, ambulances, police vehicles, construction and utility trucks, tractors and farm equipment, airplanes, and a helicopter. Attendees can meet local first responders, explore the vehicles up close, and enjoy interactive, kid-friendly activities. Community partners and resources available including Seedco enrollment counselor providing an informational table offering free, one-on-one assistance with MHC programs.
