Dental care is an important part of your overall health. Enroll in a dental-only plan or add dental when you buy a health plan.
When to buy a dental plan
You can buy a dental-only plan or a health plan that includes dental on Maryland Health Connection during open enrollment Nov. 1 to Jan. 15. Certain life events qualify you to enroll in a dental plan outside of open enrollment.
If you qualify, you may enroll in Medicaid any time of year. Dental care is free for anyone enrolled in Medicaid or MCHP.

All of our health plans include dental services for children. We also offer dental plans for children who are not enrolled in a health plan through Maryland Health Connection.

There is an annual out-of-pocket maximum for pediatric services only. This is the maximum amount a consumer will have to pay for pediatric dental services during each plan year.
The maximum out-of-pocket on dental-only pediatric plans is $350 for a single child, and $700 per family if more than one child is covered on the plan.
Adult dental benefits do not have an out-of-pocket maximum.
Advance Premium Tax Credits cannot be applied to dental plans.
