You or members of your family may qualify for Medicaid through Maryland Health Connection to receive free health care. Enrollment in Medicaid and the Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP) is available any time of year.

Noncitizen Pregnant Individuals
If you are not a U.S. citizen, you may get free health care for you and your baby. Coverage is available from the start of pregnancy through four months postpartum. Retroactive coverage (up to three months before the individual’s coverage start date) is available, but this will not extend prior to the start of the pregnancy. What does Medicaid cover?
Your managed care organization (MCO) covers doctor visits, pregnancy care, prescription drugs, hospital and emergency services, and more, at no cost.
What is the Maryland Children’s Health Program (MCHP)?
MCHP gives full health benefits for children up to age 19. MCHP enrollees obtain care from a variety of Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) through the Maryland HealthChoice Program. Click here for more information on MCHP benefits and eligibility.
