Find a provider
You will pay the lowest costs for services when you see a doctor or provider in your network.
Call your provider's office to ask if he or she accepts your insurance, check with your insurance company, or use our tool.
Use your coverage
All health plans sold through Maryland Health Connection provide the same core benefits and some plans offer more.
For example, preventive services, like annual wellness checkups, shots, and screenings, are covered for free even if you haven’t met your yearly deductible.
A regular checkup or screening (like a mammogram) can help find problems before they get worse. A regular visit with your doctor will help you live a healthier life.
Telehealth Coverage
All insurance companies have telehealth coverage.
For questions or more information about telehealth coverage, visit your insurance company’s website:

Resources for your health insurance problems or concerns
Health Coverage Assistance Team (HCAT)
The Maryland Insurance Administration's Health Coverage Assistance Team can help you get answers to your health insurance questions, address health insurance problems or concerns, file a complaint about your health insurance issue or concern, and connect you to resources.
Health Education and Advocacy Unit
The Health Education and Advocacy Unit (HEAU) of the Maryland Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division offers free mediation services to consumers who need help with billing and payment issues, insurance and coverage problems, and medical records and equipment.
Note: The HEAU is unable to provide legal representation or initiate lawsuits on behalf of individual consumers.
Maryland Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB)
The Maryland Prescription Drug Affordability Board (PDAB) works to help make prescription drugs more affordable for people in Maryland. If you or someone you know is having trouble paying for prescription medicine, PDAB staff can help you find resources and support programs.
PDAB also wants to hear about your experience paying for prescription drugs. Your story can help the Board decide which medications to review for high costs.
You can share your experience or ask for help with prescription drug costs by using the patient submission form, emailing at access.pdab@maryland.gov, or calling 410-702-4981.
