What if I do not have any of the immigration statuses listed above?

Some immigration statuses are eligible for a private health plans. See the full list here.

Effective Oct. 1, 2026, eligibility for Medicaid coverage will be limited to:

U.S. Citizens
Legal Permanent Residents (LPRs or green card holders) who meet or are exempt from the five-year rule
Cuban and Haitian non-citizens
Compact of Free Association (COFA) migrants.

If you do not have any of the immigration statuses eligible for Medicaid and have had a recent medical emergency, you may be able to apply for Emergency Medical Services.
